DC Kulgam reviews winter preparedness

Instructs concerned to ensure prompt response to prevent interruption of services

KULGAM : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements put in place for approaching winters.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed availability of Snow clearance machines, stock position, action plans prepared by the concerned departments framed to prevent interruption of services during the winter season.

Dr Bilal impressed upon the officers to ensure prompt response to the public grievances and ensure better coordination in dealing with Snow clearance operations and to maintain power and water supply besides other essential supplies to avoid any inconvenience to people.

The concerned officers from the Mechanical Engineering Department briefed the DC about the action plan and availability of Snow clearance machines in the district and added that they have availability of 23 machines including 02 snow cutters for snow clearance.

EOs from Municipal Councils also briefed the chair about their preparations and availability of machinery and human resources.

The DC directed for ensuring that Snow clearance machines are positioned at all critical spots to press them into process.

During the meeting, the DC also reviewed preparations of KPDCL  and availability of transformers in buffer stock.

The DC sought inter-departmental coordination for effective response for any eventuality in the approaching winter season and exhorted that the reaction time should be prompt.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; ADC, Viqar Ahmad Giri; ACR, Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz; ACD, Mohammad Imran; SDM-Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan; SP, G M Bhat; Executive Engineers from MED, KPDCL and Jal Shakti; CMO, ARTO, Tehsildars, EOs, and other Officers.
