DC Kupwara chairs training session under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan

KUPWARA : District Administration Kupwara today organized a training session for Resource Persons and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and vibrant conduct of Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan. The training session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan.
The training session aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure the smooth and vibrant implementation of the initiative across the district. The Nasha Mukt campaign which shall be launched on 7th April in the district will be held across Educational Institutions, Panchayat Level and ULBs to combat drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.
Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving the goal of a “Nasha Mukt” (Drug-Free) Jammu and Kashmir. She underscored that the campaign is not just about eradicating drug abuse but also about building awareness, fostering resilience within communities, and providing rehabilitation and support for those affected. She impressed upon the officers of different departments to work in close coordination with concerted efforts to ensure smooth conduct of the Nasha Mukt J&K campaign across the district.
Nodal Officer NMBA, Mudasir Ahmad also spoke and provided awareness to the participants about their role and responsibility in conducting awareness camps down to block, ULB and panchayat level.
The training session covered various aspects of the initiative, including awareness generation, community mobilization, identification of at-risk individuals, and the role of various departments in the rehabilitation process. Participants were also briefed on the procedures for coordinating awareness programs and ensuring timely support for individuals in need of intervention.
The Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan aims to address the growing issue of substance abuse in the region and empower communities to work together for a brighter and healthier future. The initiative is in line with the government’s commitment to providing a safe and prosperous environment for all its citizens
