DC Kupwara Conducts Surprise Inspection; ARTO Kupwara Attached, Hidayatullah Mir Assigned Additional Charge

In a significant administrative move, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kupwara conducted a surprise inspection at the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) and the Tehsil Office in Drugmulla, Kupwara. The unexpected visit aimed to assess the functioning and efficiency of these offices.

Following the inspection, the DC issued immediate orders attaching the current ARTO Kupwara Bilal Ahmad Mir pending an enquiry into the matter observed during the visit. The Deputy Commissioner has initiated a detailed probe to ensure transparency and accountability in the office’s operations as various complaints were pouring in from general public with regard to functioning of the office.

In a related development,Mr Hidayatullah Mir, the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Kupwara, has been assigned the additional charge of ARTO Kupwara. This arrangement will remain in effect until further orders. The administration expects that this temporary assignment will help maintain the smooth functioning of the ARTO Office during the ongoing enquiry.

The DC Kupwara emphasized the commitment of the district administration to uphold efficiency and integrity in public service. Further details regarding the enquiry and any subsequent actions are expected to be made public in due course.
