DC Kupwara distributes Emergency Response Kits, Certificates and Identity Cards among 200 trained AAPDA Mitra Volunteers of Kupwara

KUPWARA : Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Dr.Doifode Sagar Dattatray, who is also Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kupwara today distributed Emergency Response Kits, Certificates and Identity Cards among 200 trained AAPDA Mitra Volunteers of Kupwara district, here at a distribution ceremony for Emergency Response under Upscaling of AAPDA Mitra Scheme.

The SSP Kupwara,  Yougal Manhas,  ADC Kupwara  Ghulam Nabi Bhat,  DIO Kupwara Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Tehsildar Kupwara, AO DC Office, other officers of Administration and a large number of AAPDA Volunteers attended the function.
Addressing at the occasion,  the Deputy Commissioner congratulated Volunteers for successfully completing 12 days training course from SDRF and JKDMA. He said after getting training,  Volunteers can save the precious lives during disastrous like earth quick, snow avalanche,  floods, fire incidents,  road accidents etc.

The DC said the actual work of Volunteers should start before the disastrous as prevented measures are very important for mitigation of risks.  He said Kupwara Administration did tremendous work during winter  season as about 400 snow avalanches  took place at higher reaches of Kupwara district without any loss of life and property. He said, this was done because of prevented measures was taken by  Administration and concerned stakeholders.
Deputy Commissioner said that  Administration has already  kept available Rescue Trunks in every Panchayat of the district and now with the training of Volunteers all  Panchayats would get trained Volunteers. DC hoped that  all Volunteers would work as first respondents and before swinging  into any rescue  action, they should inform concerned SHO and Tehsildar to connect with institutions and administration for  Rescue work.
SSP Kupwara in his address advised the trained Volunteers to further disseminate the knowledge about the training they have received from the SDRF.
ADC Kupwara also spoke at the occasion and asked Volunteers to work with utmost willingness and bravery.

On the occasion various Volunteers gave their feedback about the training.
