DC Kupwara inspects transit accommodation of GMC Handwara

KUPWARA : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today visited Handwara for inspection of transit accommodation for Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara. Principal GMC, Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah; ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; Medical Superintendent DH, XEN R&B, Tehsildar and concerned officers were present at the occasion.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner had a detailed inspection of various apartments of the transit accommodation which include Laboratory block, Library, Class Rooms, Cafeteria and other sections.

While talking to media persons, the DC said it is a matter of great privilege for the people of Kupwara district that the transit accommodation for  GMC is at finishing level and shall be completed within 15 to 20 days for functioning of the Medical College. He said this was a dream that has come true now adding that classes will start shortly there.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner passed on spot directions to the concerned officers to make proper arrangements of electricity, water, lighting and approaching links to the College accommodation for its smooth functioning.
