DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for Kheer Bhawani Mela

KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today convened a meeting of officers to review the arrangements for celebration of annual Kheer Bhawani Mela at Tikker in Kupwara.

Threadbare discussions were held on health facilities, parking of vehicles, security and sanitation, availability of essential commodities, power and water supply besides other allied arrangements.
The DC directed the concerned departments for making necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, transport, security, ration, medical facilities, sanitation in and around the temple and other arrangements.
The officers of Municipal Committee Kupwara  were directed to ensure proper sanitation within as well as approaching road stretch to the temple at Tikker Kupwara.
Food department was directed to ensure all essential commodities including kerosene and LPG supplies at the venue.
The DC directed the officers to ensure that all requisite arrangements are put in place in advance for devotees visiting to pay obeisance and to work in close coordination to ensure smooth conduct of the Mela.
The ADC was designated as Nodal Officer for ensuring the arrangements at the venue and shall liaise with the concerned Ashtapan Committee.
The ADC was directed to visit the Temple on 17th May alongwith concerned officers for inspection of the arrangements made there.
The DC directed Power Department to shift transformer at the Temple and ensure uninterrupted power supply.
The meeting was attended by  ADC Kupwara Ghulam Nabi Bhat, ACR, ARTO, Tehsildar Kupwara, besides, Engineers from PDD, PHE and R&B.
