DC Kupwara reviews progress of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

KUPWARA : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the current status of the implementation of the scheme, reviewing both the achievements and challenges faced by the district.

The chair was informed through a detailed powerpoint presentation about the number of applications received under the scheme, installation of solar power systems, vendor selection and the steps taken by the PDD to maximize the beneficiaries under the scheme.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of PDD and concerned departments to activate their field staff for grassroot awareness and coverage of the scheme for achievement of the targets. She directed the concerned departments, banks and vendors to hold joint melas for on spot enrolment of the beneficiaries.

The PDD officers were directed to intensify the door to door campaign to aware the public about the benefits of the scheme. They were also directed to make the schedule for holding awareness camps in all panchayats of the district.

Municipal Committees were also directed to host functions in towns for mass awareness among the people.

The meeting was attended by CPO Kupwara, Executive Engineers of PDD and other concerned officers.
