DC Kupwara reviews progress on RIDF projects of NABARD

KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan saturday chaired a meeting to review the status of projects funded under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) of NABARD in the district.

DDM, NABARD, Zubair Wasil informed the meeting that 61 projects with total outlay of Rs. 47.20 Cr under different sectors are under execution in the district. The projects funded under RIDF of NABARD in the district include rural roads, bridges, water supply schemes, primary health centres, irrigation and flood control works, and other infrastructure development projects.

He also apprised the chair regarding various issues related to fund flow, timely submission of Project Completion Certificates and Utilization Certificates.

The DC, while reviewing the physical and financial progress of the taken up works, laid thrust on the executing agencies to complete the projects under timelines.

Project-wise threadbare discussion was held to accelerate the physical and financial components of the projects.

The DC directed the Executive Engineers to speed up pace and complete the slow moving projects by the end of this year.

She also impressed upon the executing agencies to liaison with the line departments to keep them abreast of status of projects and proper monitoring.

The DC directed concerned Executive Engineers to take legal action against contractors who have not started works despite providing them a lot of opportunities and time.

The meeting was attended by SE, R&B, Joint Director Planning, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE and Irrigation and other concerned.
