DC Kupwara visits Lolab areas, reviews post snowfall situation

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan on Thursday conducted an extensive tour of various areas of Lolab to take firsthand appraisal of snow clearance operations, restoration of essential services besides taking stock of the availability of essential commodities.
The DC visited Sogam , Lalpora, Khumryal besides other areas and enquired people about the availability of essentials. Ayushi Sudan also reviewed the progress made so far vis-à-vis restoring essential services.

She instructed the officers to ensure restoration of essential services at an earliest so that people do not suffer at any cost.

The DC also interacted with people at several places and listened to them and assured of early redressal of their issues.
While interacting with Media persons at Khumryal, DC said that, snow clearance on majority of the roads has been completed while work on the remaining is in progress.

DC said that snow clearance operation is underway on the roads leading to high altitude areas. Beacon has pressed men and machinery to open these roads.

DC said that maintenance of PDD infrastructure is being done , hotlines which were damaged due to snowfall have been made through, work is under way for restoration of electricity. “Hopefully within 24 hours electricity will be restored” She Said.

DC added that before the onset of winters, Health sector of far-off areas was equipped and fine tonned. At Tangdar an anesthetic surgeon and a gynecologist has already been stationed.
