The AVSAR programme is purpose built to function as an essential link, to connect the region’s talented youth with essential skills and employability, acting as a vital link between the local talent pool and corporate, national, and multinational enterprises. The overarching goal is to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the skilled youth in the area, thereby driving economic growth and socio-economic empowerment.

AVSAR is a comprehensive initiative that encompasses various crucial elements, including Skill Development, Soft Skills training, Career Guidance, Job Melas, Industry-Academia collaboration, and the establishment of a professional exam study center. By offering these services, the program seeks to equip young individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive in the job market.

During his address at the meeting, DC emphasized that the District’s primary focus under AVSAR will be on achieving tangible outcomes that are employment-oriented. He underscored the importance of continuous skill development and upgradation for both the existing workforce and prospective youth.

Importantly, DC urged all stakeholders to consider the unique socio-economic dynamics of the district while implementing the AVSAR programme.

It is important to note that the District Institute of Professional Excellence, Career Guidance and Studies has been established at Government Degree College Boys Pulwama. In this regard, DC directed the relevant authorities to invest in upgrading and enhancing this center to provide exceptional services to the youth.

The DC stressed for the comprehensive updating of the youth database, and submission of an action plan to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the AVSAR programme in the district.
