Stresses upon officers to strictly follow Curtailment Schedule

KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of officers of Power Development Department (PDD) to review the status of power supply scenario in the district.

Addressing the meeting, Ayushi stressed upon the officers to ensure strict adherence to the curtailment schedule to avoid any inconvenience to the people during the harsh winter season.

The DC directed the officers to be more proactive on the ground to address the grievances and issues of the people regarding power supply. She asked the SE, PDD to establish a helpline at district level for instant grievance redressal of the consumers over telephone. The SE was also directed to designate a Nodal Officer for handling and looking after the Helpline.

Regarding maintenance of transformers, the DC asked the officers for regular maintenance and replacement of the transformers so that people do not suffer.

She also impressed upon the officers to intensify the inspections to curb the issue of power theft and ensure that crude gadgets are completely banished. She directed them to share details of inspection on a regular basis with her office.

Earlier, the DC sought feedback from the concerned Executive Engineers regarding progress of Receiving Stations of Dever, Natnussa and Jaggerpora coming up in the district and directed the officers to bring ROW issue, if any, to her notice on priority.

The meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineer PDD, Executive Engineers of PDD Division Kupwara/Handwara, Executive Engineer from Sub Transmission Division and other concerned officers.
