DC Shopian reviews Eid-ul-Adha arrangements

SHOPIAN : In view of the upcoming Eid-Ul-Adha festival, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today convened a meeting of officers and stakeholders at Mini-Secretariat here to take stock of the arrangements put in place for celebration of Eid festival across the district.
DC said that a special mechanism will be formulated for smooth celebration of the forthcoming festival of Eid, and exhorted upon the concerned officers to work in close coordination for ensuring hassle free Eid in the district.
Availability of essential commodities, livestock & poultry birds, magisterial & security arrangements, sanitation services, adequate power and water availability, medical facilities at religious places and other required services were discussed, and officers were instructed to ensure the proper and optimal arrangements.
The district administration constituted market checking teams to conduct joint market inspection to check profiteering, black marketing of essential commodities and ensure good market practices.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; ACR, SDM, ACP, ASP, concerned district officers, Tehsildars and other concerned.
