DC tours Shopian town, reviews snow clearance, traffic management measures

Also conducts market inspection

SHOPIAN : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb saturday toured Shopian town in order to review provision of services post snowfall and to take appraisal of traffic management initiatives.

Day 5 of DA-JGUA witnesses enthusiastic participation at Satrina, Kangan

During the visit to various areas of the town, DC focused on traffic management and adherence of road users on Road Safety initiatives along with conducting market checking.

He issued directions to authorities to remove encroachments along the roads.

Additionally, a comprehensive review was undertaken to address the congestion in market areas, ensuring unobstructed access along critical roads especially along Hospital Road.

He directed the officers to formulate a comprehensive action plan and take immediate measures to overcome traffic jams to ensure better regulation of traffic movement in the town.

He also sought better cooperation of traders and Vendors Association in adhering to optimal and desirable market practices including keeping the town Clean and traffic accessible.

DC directed MVD, MC Traffic and Police authorities to work in close coordination and act tough against traffic rules violators. He also directed the officers to conduct a massive enforcement drive against wrong parking and roadside encroachments in the town Shopian.

The public was encouraged to cultivate responsible driving habits, avoid obstructing roads through improper parking, and make appropriate use of parking spaces.

Officials on the occasion also promoted awareness among the general public about safe driving practices during the snowy season.

The DC was accompanied by ARTO Shopian, officials of MC, MVD, Police and others.
