Directs officers to be more responsive in dealing with public issues

District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today chaired a mega block diwas programme at Trehgam in Kupwara district.

BDC Chairperson, District and Block level Officers, Engineers, besides, PRIs and general public attended the block diwas programme.

Addressing the function, the DDC stressed upon the officers to be more responsive towards the public while dealing with their demands and issues, adding that the expectations of the people towards administration have increased manifold, which is a good sign for good governance. He said the main motive of behind holding the Block diwas programmes is accessibility and compliance adding that various services are being provided to the public during the block diwas functions.

The DDC said that all the 3 tiers of Panchayati Raj system are working tirelessly in tandem with administration for getting better results at ground level. He said that he has visited various block diwas programmes personally and observed that PRIs are very much active to get their public issues resolved from the administration.

While responding to various issues projected during the block diwas programme, the DDC gave on spot directions to the concerned officers with fixed timeline and asked PRIs to give feedback to him about the initiative.

Block Diwas was also held at Pohrupeth Langate in Handwara sub division which was chaired by ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir. BDC Chairperson Langate, officers from local administration, besides, PRIs and general public attended the block diwas.

SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather chaired a Block Diwas event at Jabdi Bijildar in Karnah sub division. BDO Teetwal, block level officers and PRIs attended the block diwas. The SDM heard the issues of the PRIs and general public on the occasion.
