DDC Kupwara felicitates Panchayats for achieving the TB- Mukt status.

Kupwara : The District Development Commissioner/ District Election Officer, Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS) on Tuesday felicitated different Panchayats of RDD blocks of Kupwara district for achieving “TB-Mukt Panchayats” for the year- 2023 , during a felicitation ceremony of NTEP with special reference to TB-Mukt Panchayat initiative, held at Meeting hall of DC Office Complex.

118 Panchayats of the different Blocks of Kupwara district, which qualified as TB Mukt Panchayats, received appreciation Certificates and statue of Mahatma Gandhi for their contribution in making panchayats TB- free.

While addressing the Panchayt Secretaries who received certificates and mementoes, DDC Kupwara appreciated efforts of Panchayats especially Panchayat secretaries for achieving targets under SSR of Panchayat Electoral Roll- 2024 of Kupwara district.

DC said that Panchayat Secretaries play a crucial role in the functioning of local governance. Their responsibilities include administrative tasks, implementing government schemes at the grassroots level, facilitating the functioning of the Panchayats. They serve as a bridge between the local community and government, ensuring efficient delivery of services and effective implementation of policies.

DC directed the Panchayt Secretaries to effectively fulfill their role and contribute significantly in transforming villages into clean, green and sustainable communities, enhancing the quality of life in villages of Kupwara district by conserving the environment for future generations.

Earlier, DTO Kupwara, Dr. Gh. Hassan briefed about the implementation of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme in the district, he high- lighted the efforts and achievements made so far.

ACD Kupwara, Muzaffar Ahmad and ACP Kupwara, Dr. Mudasir, CMO Dr. Ramzan and other concerned officers attended the programme.
