SHOPIAN : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today reviewed the progress of the district under Aspirational Block Development Plans (ABDPs) and Aspirational Panchayat Development Plans (APDPs), at Mini Secretariat Shopian.
During the review, the DDC emphasized the importance of developing panchayats, stating that they are the basic building units of the nation and their development is of utmost priority for the administration.
The District Administration’s focus on panchayat development is in line with the government’s efforts to strengthen grassroots democracy and promote rural development.
The plans are aimed to ensure that these development plans are aligned with the needs and aspirations of the local community, especially the more backward pockets and blocks.
The DDC instructed the officials to expedite the implementation of development projects and ensure that the benefits of these projects reach the intended beneficiaries.
Shahid focused on saturation of all government schemes emphasising the importance of bringing these areas at par with other developed areas through convergence.
In APDP, around 100 parameters pertaining to line departments are regularly monitored and progress uploaded and updated on the dashboard.
Block Ramnagri and Keller are the two blocks in the district which are being targeted for holistic development.
The review meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, ACD, CPO, DPO and Block Development Officers (BDOs) besides other concerned officers.
