DEO Kupwara visits Far flung Jabdi village of Karnah, inspects Polling stations

KUPWARA : The District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan Tuesday visited , Jabdi a far flung picturesque village of Karnah in Kupwara district which is located at LOC some 40 kms away from Tangdar and inspected polling station of Jabdi established at Govt. primary School Jabdi Upper to take first hand appraisal of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) and interact with voters of the areas.

DEO reviewed the preparedness of this remote polling station for the upcoming assembly elections.
The inspection was aimed to ensure that this polling station is accessible to voters especially to specially-abled persons. Ramp access, and other facilities were reviewed by the DEO.
The DEO, accompanied by RO Karnah, Zaffar Ahmed Lone, Dy. DEO Kupwara, Mir Hamidullah, Ex. Engineer R&B, ZEO Nodal Officer SVEEP and other officers assessed the facilities, security arrangements and accessibility features at the polling station.
Ayushi Sudan emphasised the concerned departments for ensuring all required facilities at the polling station so that each and every eligible voter shall participate in the election process without any hindrance.
The DC interacted with staff to review the preparedness and adherence to electoral guidelines, emphasizing the importance of impartiality and transparency throughout the electoral proceedings.
She reiterated the administration’s commitment to conducting free, fair and peaceful elections, urging all stakeholders to cooperate and contribute to the success of the electoral process.
The DC also reviewed the infrastructure, security measures and other arrangements in place .

The DEO interacted with the locals and first time voters of the village and urged them to use their right to franchise enthusiastically.
She further said that Jabdi is a beautiful village which has vast tourism potential.
On her return from Jabdi, the DEO convened a review meeting at mini secretariat Tangdar to review the preparedness of Sub Divisional administration Karnah for upcoming assembly elections.
During the meeting, various aspects of the election were discussed.The DEO emphasized the importance of ensuring that all arrangements are in place to facilitate a smooth, fair, and transparent election.
DEO inspected the election control room, Strong room,and media center at Tangdar.
Enroute, the DEO inspected the Upper Nachyan Polling station and took first hand appraisal of AMFs. The DEO interacted with locals and first time voters.
