Kupwara : Department of Agriculture Zone Sogam, in collaboration with the J&K Youth Welfare Forum, successfully held a workshop at GDC Sogam aimed at raising awareness among farmers and students about new agricultural practices and organic farming. The event was attended by over 100 participants by different stakeholders of Lolab including civil society members, youth representatives, students and employees.
During the workshop, Mr. Firdous SDAO Sogam addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of organic farming. He assured farmers that they should not hesitate to approach the department for support and assistance with any agricultural issues, stating, “We are always here to help.”
Founding President Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat spoke on the topics of organic farming and climate change, highlighting our collective contribution and role in addressing these critical issues. He expressed gratitude to the Department of Agriculture and GDC Sogam for facilitating this valuable workshop.
Mr. Ghulam from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) discussed various schemes offered by his department and encouraged participants to reach out whenever they need assistance.
The workshop served as an important platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, reinforcing the commitment of the Department of Agriculture and J&K Youth Welfare Forum to support the agricultural community and promote sustainable farming practices.
