Despite heavy snowfall all major roads are open in Kupwara district

DC personally monitored snow clearance operation, interacted with public, inspected Government Institutions

Day 5 of DA-JGUA witnesses enthusiastic participation at Satrina, Kangan

KUPWARA : All major roads including Kupwara-Sopore road, Handwara-Baramulla, Kupwara-Sogam, Kupwara-Kralpora-Chowkibal and other roads are open for traffic in Kupwara district.

According to Executive Engineer Mechanical, all priority 1 roads have been cleared twice during the day.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today himself inspected various Government offices and health institutions and other establishments to personally monitor the snow clearance operation and other facilities.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected snow clearance operation at Bohipora-Gushi-Vilgam road. He also had a surprise check of NTPHC Gushi and Nayabat Office Gushi, AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre Gushi.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner checked the attendace of staff.

The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the public during the visit. He heard the public patiently and redressed their grievances.

The Deputy Commissioner said while interacting with media persons, the aim of his visit is to personally monitor the snow clearance operation and listen to the public issues in the ground.

The Deputy Commissioner directed officers and field functionaries to play proactive role in facilitating public during the ongoing snow season.

He said despite heavy snowfall in the areas of Kupwara district, snow clearance operation remain uninterrupted during the day and all major roads are open for traffic.

Meanwhile, snow clearance operation is on in Karnah sub division also.
