Out of this amount, Rs 1.39 lakh has been allocated as scholarships for the wards of deceased and serving police personnel.

The DGP has sanctioned a special welfare relief amount of Rs 22 lakh each in favor of the dependents/legal heirs of ten deceased police personnel and a special relief amount of Rs 6 lakh in favor of the next of kin of deceased SPO Gurdeep Singh.

These police personnel passed away during their service due to health-related issues. In addition, welfare loans of Rs 10.95 lakh and welfare relief of Rs 45,000 have been sanctioned for four police personnel to cover their own or their dependents’ medical expenses.

The scholarships, totalling Rs 60,000, have been granted to 12 school-going wards of deceased police personnel who passed away while in service.

Additionally, meritorious scholarships of Rs 72,000 and Rs 60,000 have been granted to six wards each, who secured above 90% and 80% marks, respectively, in the Class 12th Annual Examination during the Academic Session 2021-22.

All these grants have been made from the Central Police Welfare Funds.
