DHEW- MS B’gam organises Awareness programme on Women Empowerment & Women Specific Schemes

BUDGAM : The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Budgam in collaboration with One Stop Centre Budgam today organised an awareness programme on the role of DHEW and other women centric schemes at Anganwari Centre Syed Mohalla of Block Narbal.

The programme was attended by AWWs, AWH, Local Women and children of the adjoining areas.

The team DHEW Budgam imparted awareness to the participants about the women welfare schemes including women helpline 181, One Stop Centre for women, PMMVY, PMKVY, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Poshan Abhiyan UDID.

They also educated them about the livelihood schemes for women entrepreneurs, Indira Gandhi National old age pension scheme, pension scheme for widows, pension scheme for disabled people, UTMAS, Childline 1098, ICPS and other women related schemes.

The team OSC Budgam briefed about the services provided at One Stop Centre for Women such as medical, psycho social counseling, legal aid, shelter, WHL 181. The team also raised awareness on Domestic Violence Act 2005, Cyber Crime, Stalking and other crimes existing in the society.

At the end of the programme both the teams also noted the grievances of the participating women and assured them to provide help as soon as possible.
