District administration flags off Run for unity on National unity Day at Kupwara, Handwara

Kupwara : District Administration Kupwara on Tuesday administered the unity pledge and flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ at Kupwara and Handwara on the occasion of ‘National Unity Day.’

The ‘Run for Unity’, commemorating National Unity Day, the birth anniversary of the visionary leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, commenced at DC Office Kupwara and concluded at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara embodying the spirit of unity and togetherness that Sardar Patel so passionately advocated.

The event saw participation from a diverse array of individuals, officers of District Administration including
SSP Kupwara ,ADDC Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, ASP Kupwara, ACR, CPO Kupwara, DYSSO and Dy. CEO, Govt employees, students, local residents, and other dignitaries. This gathering highlighted the importance of community involvement in promoting national values.
At government Higher secondary School Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, Mohd. Rouf Rehman administered the unity pledge to the participants.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the ADC underscored the significance of observing the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. He said the day not only commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, but also re-affirms the inherent strength and resilience of the nation.

Meanwhile, On the eve of “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” Handwara Police in collaboration with Sub District Administration Handwara organised ‘Run for Unity at Handwara which was flagged off by SSP Handwara and ADC Handwara from Chotipora to Environment Hall Handwara.
The 3 Kms long unity run saw the enthusiastic participation of more than 200 participants including students from different schools of Sub Division Handwara, Handwara civil society members, security forces personnel and officers and officials with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Speaking on this occasion, the ADC Handwara, Aziz Ahmed Rather thanked the participants for their participation and highlighted the importance of this day and recalled the contribution of Sardar Vallabhai Patel in the unification of India.On the conclusion reward ceremony, medals were distributed among the first three winners of the event and consolation prizes were given to the participants who secured positions and refreshment was served to all the participants.
SSP Handwara addressed the participants & highlighted the importance of this day & emphasized that we must strengthen the Unity, Integrity, Sovereignty & Spirit of brotherhood.
