KUPWARA : District Administration Kupwara today launched the ‘Skill Mission-Hunarmand Kupwara’ in Government Polytechnic College Kupwara and all Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). The ‘Skill Mission-Hunarmand Kupwara’ is an initiative of the District Administration Kupwara for Empowering Youth through Skill Development under Aspirational District Programme of NITI Aayog.
At Government Polytechnic College Kupwara, MLA Trehgam, Mir Saifullah inaugurated the Skill Mission Hunarmand in presence of ADC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad; Principal GPC, CPO, officials and large number of aspirants. The MLA hoped for positive results under the Mission which is targeted for skilling up the unemployed youth of district Kupwara. He encouraged participants to make full use of the opportunities provided through this initiative, noting that skill-based societies are the backbone of modern development.
At ITI Kupwara, MLA Kupwara, Mir Mohammad Fayaz inaugurated the Skill Mission in presence of CPO Kupwara, Superintendent ITI, officials and large number of candidates. He hoped that the Skill Mission Hunarmand will benefit large number of unemployed youth who were facing challenges in getting employment due to lack of proper skills. He thanked District Administration for this initiative to build up the potential of the Kupwara youth.
Similarly, MLA Langate, Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh inaugurated the Skill Mission Hunarmand at ITI Handwara, in presence of ADC Handwara, Javid Naseem Masoodi and other concerned officers, besides, large number of aspirants. The MLA impressed upon the aspirants to take the benefit of the Hunarmand initiative by getting necessary skills which will equip them for self employment avenues.
SDM Lolab, Mudasir Ahmad inaugurated the aspirational Skill Development Mission Hunarmand at ITI Lalpora in presence of concerned officers. He appealed the aspirants to take more and more benefit under the initiative. SDM Karnah, Zaffar Ahmad inaugurated Hunarmand skill initiative at ITI Tangdar to mark the official launch of the district wide skill programme.
About 600 candidates have been identified and enrolled under 18 different courses in Government Polytechnic College and Industrial Training Institutes of the district The courses under which the candidates will be skilled include Basic Computer Digital Literacy, Sozni Embroidery, Basic Masonry and Concreting, Solar Power Technician, Basic Tailoring, Basic Multimedia & Animation, Mobile Repairing etc.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan had reviewed the arrangements for conduct of the skill training course in Government Polytechnic College Kupwara and ITIs in the district to boost the potential of the youth. She said the initiative is not just a set of training courses but a step towards unlocking possibilities, enhancing employability and redefining the future of thousands of youth in Kupwara district.
