District Administration Srinagar Launches Cleanliness Drive at DC Office Complex Under Swachhta Pakhwada 2024

DC Srinagar Emphasizes Importance of Cleanliness and Unveils Comprehensive Action Plan with 500 Activities

SRINAGAR :- The District Administration Srinagar launched a significant cleanliness drive at the DC Office (Amar Niwas Complex) in Tankipora as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada 2024 initiative.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from the Officials of District Administration and local volunteers, all committed to promoting a cleaner environment.
During the event, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public spaces. He urged all District Officers to ensure their premises and surrounding areas are kept clean, highlighting that cleanliness is not just a periodic activity but a continuous responsibility.
The DC revealed that a detailed Action Plan has been devised for the Swachhta Pakhwada, which runs from August 1 to August 15, 2024.
The Action Plan includes approximately 500 activities aimed at enhancing cleanliness and promoting hygiene across the District. Activities range from community clean-up drives, educational workshops and awareness campaigns, to competitions encouraging innovative waste management solutions.
The DC emphasized that the success of Swachhta Pakhwada hinges on the active participation of the community.
DC Srinagar stated that everyone has a role to play in creating a cleaner, healthier environment while urging citizens to take part in the scheduled activities and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
In addition to the cleanliness drive, the Administration also plans to deploy additional waste collection units, improve sanitation facilities, and organize training sessions for sanitation workers to ensure effective implementation of hygiene practices in Srinagar District.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Tehsildar South، Tharun Patnaik and other Officers and Officials participated in the cleanliness drive under Swactha Pakhwada.
Meanwhile, the cleanliness drives were also held in all District Offices of Srinagar District.
