District Police Kupwara Organizes Drug Awareness Rally and Signature Campaign to Combat Drug Abuse

Kupwara : The District Police Kupwara took an important step in raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse by organizing a Drug Awareness Rally and Signature Campaign. The event was lead by SSP Kupwara, Sh Ghulam Jeelani Wani-JKPS, accompanied by Sh Gh Mohd Bhat-JKPS, Addl SP Kupwara, Syed Mujahid-Ul-Haq-JKPS, DySP DAR Kupwara, Rafee Rather-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Kupwara, Insp Ajaz Ahmad, SHO PS Kupwara, and other officers of the District Police.

Day 5 of DA-JGUA witnesses enthusiastic participation at Satrina, Kangan

The rally commenced from Regipora Chowk, attracting a large participation of students from various schools, members of the general public, and police officers. The march passed through the main road, raising slogans and displaying banners and placards to promote drug-free living, and concluded at Old Chowk Kupwara. The event underscored the collective commitment of the community to fight against the menace of drug abuse.

At the culmination of the rally, a Signature Campaign was held where students, police officers, and members of the public signed a pledge banner to show their dedication to staying drug-free and spreading awareness about this critical issue. The campaign symbolized a united stand against drug abuse and encouraged participants to become advocates for positive change.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Kupwara,emphasized the grave impact of drug abuse on youth and society and urged all to come together to combat this menace and protect our future generations.He requested parents, teachers and community members to remain vigilant and supportive, guiding the youth towards a healthy and positive lifestyle.

He further appealed to the public to remain proactive and report any incidents related to drug trafficking or abuse to the police.
In addition to the main event in Kupwara town, simultaneous drug awareness rallies were conducted in the jurisdiction of PS Trehgam and PS Kralpora, lead by Insp Ajaz Ahmad, SHO Trehgam, and Insp Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO Kralpora, respectively. These rallies further reinforced the message of unity and collective action against drug abuse across the district.
