District-Wide Inspection of SIM Card Vendors conducted by Police Teams in Kupwara

Kupwara : Kupwara Police carried out a comprehensive inspection of SIM card vendors across the district to strengthen security and prevent the misuse of mobile services for illegal and anti-national activities.

The teams were lead by Supervisory Officers and SHOs focused on ensuring compliance with Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines by the vendors.They were directed to strictly verify customer documents, maintain accurate records, and report any suspicious activity. Police teams conducted on-site checks to review operational practices and security protocols. Vendors were also reminded of the legal consequences of non-compliance and the importance of adhering to verification standards.
Kupwara Police urges citizens to safeguard their personal documents, ensure proper registration of SIM cards in their name, and verify activation details with service providers. These measures are vital to curbing the exploitation of mobile services for anti-national or criminal activities.
