KULGAM : A library developed by the district administration Kulgam was today dedicated to students here at Kulgam to support their academic pursuits, broaden their knowledge, and foster personal growth.
The facility was dedicated to students in presence of Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam; Mohammad Afzal Parrey; MLA Kulgam, M.Y. Tarigami and Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.
Addressing the gathering, DDC Chairperson described the facility as more than just a building, referring to it as a temple of knowledge. He highlighted the transformative power of books in shaping individuals and cultivating enlightened communities.
MLA Kulgam in his address emphasized the crucial role of books in shaping thoughts and character, particularly among the youth.
“Books are our closest companions and empower us with knowledge, insight, and the ability to question constructively,” he added.
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam appreciated the efforts of the R&B department and the Planning Wing in establishing the facility well in time.
Reflecting on his own educational journey, he highlighted the immense value that libraries offer to students. A library is not just a place to read, it is a space to grow, reflect and transform, he said.
He also assured that additional facilities and resources would be incorporated in the library.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students.
Present on the occasion were Joint Director Planning (JDP), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Executive Engineer R&B, Tehsildar Kulgam, and other senior officers and officials.
