Div Com Ladakh visits flood-affected Shakar-Chiktan block

Divisional Commissioner Ladakh, Saugat Biswas on Friday visited flood-affected villages at Shakar-Chiktan block as part of his tour to Kargil district. He was accompanied by Councilor Shakar, Zakir Hussain, Superintending Engineer, R&B, Superintending Engineer Hydraulics, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer PHE, Executive Engineer Mechanical, Tehsildar, Block Development Officer, other concerned officers and officials of other departments. The Divisional Commissioner visited various villages of Shakar-Chiktan and inspected the damage caused by the recent flood to irrigation kuls, drinking water pipeline, electricity supply, agricultural land, trees and road connectivity. The Councillor Shakar-Chiktan and District Officers appraised the Divisional Commissioner about damages caused by the recent flood. They further briefed him about the restoration works being executed by the administration. The Divisional Commissioner also discussed various measures and steps being taken up for the restoration of essential services in the region.
