DLC selects 26 Beneficiaries under HADP in Sheep Husbandry Sector at Shopian

SHOPIAN : In an inclusive and transparent process, a District Level Committee (DLC) chaired by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today convened a meeting to select beneficiaries for various components of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) for the year 2023-24.

The selection was carried out through the draw of lots method which enabled the unbiased selection of beneficiaries.

On this occasion, DDC urged the youth to come forward and avail the benefits of various sheep farming schemes and assured them of full support and cooperation in setting up new ventures.

He added that the units once established will give a huge fillip to the sheep farming sector in the district and bridge the mutton deficit gap to a great extent.

While congratulating the selected applicants, DDC stressed upon them to work hard and adopt latest technological interventions to exploit huge potential in sheep farming in the district.

District Sheep Husbandry Officer Shopian, Dr. Tariq Ahmad informed that a total of 26 candidates were selected under various components of the HADP.

Joint Director Planning, Shopian, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana; DSEO, Shopian, Nowshad Ahmed; CAO, Farooq Ahmed; AD Fisheries, Zahoor Ahmed; Officers, Officials and breeders were present on the occasion.
