BUDGAM : Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Chari-I-Sharief Wednesday organized awareness programme and medical camp for Girls, on the eve of ‘National Girl Child Day’, at Sub-District Hospital, Chari-I-Sharief, in collaboration with ICDS Department and Sub-District Hospital, Chari-I-Sharief.

J&K govt facilitates safe return of residents, students from Iran

The event was held under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority, and under the directions and guidance of Jahangir Bakshi, Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam and Fakhur-Un-Nissa, Chairperson, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Chari-I-Sharief.

Adv. Rayees Ahmad, while speaking on the occasion, said that the main objective of the day is to provide support and opportunities to the girls of India. He educated participants about their legal rights, gender equality and protection from discrimination. He also made participants aware about dire consequences of child marriage, child labour, and gender-biased violence.

Medical Camp was also organized at the venue in order to provide information on menstrual hygiene and importance of health and nutrition in girls, in which Dr. Shazia and Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, promoted awareness on the importance of girl education, their health, hygiene and nutrition. They also laid emphasis on the empowerment of the girl child.

Gulafroz Jan, Supervisor ICDS, Chari-I-Sharief, also spoke on the occasion and disseminated the information about the importance of the day.

The event witnessed the participation of Medical Officers, Supervisor ICDS, Staff members of Sub District Hospital Chari-I-Sharief, staff, Panel Lawyers and PLVs of TLSC Chrari Sharief, Aganwadi Workers and General Public.
