KUPWARA: In accordance with the Action Plan 2024, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kupwara, under the aegis of NALSA & JK Legal Services Authority today organized Special Lok Adalat on Revenue Cases across District Kupwara. The said Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Ms. Shazia Tabasum, Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, (Pr. District & Session Judge) Kupwara, and guidance of Moneer Ahmad, Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Kupwara.
On the occasion, FOUR (04) Benches were constituted for the said Lok Adalat comprising of Presiding Officers and Members for the amicable settlement/ compromise of the cases. 1st Bench was constituted at D.C Office Complex Kupwara, Presided over by Mumtaz Ahmad Pir (ACR Kupwara), Niyaz Ahmad Bhat (Tehsildar Kupwara) acted as member of the bench. 2nd Bench was constituted at Tehsil Office Handwara, Presided over by Zeeshan Khan (Tehsildar Handwara), Manzoor Ahmad Mir (Naib Tehsildar Handwara-A) acted as member of the bench. 3rd Bench was constituted at Sub Divisional Magistrate Lolab, Presided over by Javid Ahmad Masoodi (SDM Lolab), Saqib Murtaza (Tehsildar Sogam) acted as member of the bench. 4th Bench was constituted at Sub Divisional Magistrate Karnah, Presided over by Zaffar Ahmad (SDM Karnah), Mohd Amin Bhat (Tehsildar Karnah) acted as member of the bench.
A total number of 36 cases were taken up by all the benches, of which 20 cases were disposed as settled on spot by intervention of the benches and by participation of the lawyers and litigants.
Lawyers and litigants participating in the Special Lok Adalat expressed their joy in early disposal of the cases through mutual settlement and appreciated the arrangements of the Special Lok Adalat.
