DLSA organised National lok Adalat

District Legal Services Authority Kupwara today organised National Lok Adalat across District Kupwara in which a total number of 06 benches were constituted for taking up 2376 number of cases of various nature including civil, matrimonial, maintenance, domestic violence, recovery of money or loan, motor accident compensation, revenue, criminal compoundable and cheque bounce cases etc.

At District HeadQuarter Kupwara two benches were constituted by Secretary DLSA Kupwara Muzamil Ahmad Wani out of which one bench was presided over by Additional District & Sessions Judge P.O. Fast Track Court Kupwara Mr. Khem Raj Sharma along with Secretary DLSA Kupwara Mr. Muzamil Ahmad Wani and another bench was presided over by Sub-Judge Kupwara Mr. Rajiv Tadyal along with Bar President Kupwara.

At Handwara Headquarter two benches were constituted by Chairman TLSC Handwara, one bench was presided over by Madam Ms. Umi Kulsoom Additional District & Sessions Judge Handwara and another bench was presided over by Mr. Adnan Naqashbandi (Munsiff Handwara), similarly benches were constituted at Headquarters of Sogam and Tangdar for disposal of cases through amicable means.

Out of the total cases taken up in before all the benches in the National Lok Adalat, 2101 cases were settled on spot by intervention of the benches and by participation of the lawyers and litigants.

The settled cases included cases from MACT and Bank recovery which led to a total settlement of the amount to the tune of Rs 4840381.

Lawyers and litigants participating in the National Lok Adalat expressed their joy in early disposal of the cases through mutual settlement and appreciated the arrangements of the NLA.
