Drug Peddler arrested in Budgam; Contraband substance recovered

Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drugs from the society,Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

During routine patrolling near Qamiru crossing, police party of out post Hardipanzo Beerwah intercepted one person roaming in suspicious conditions, upon seeing the police party he tried to flee from the spot but was chased and apprehended tactfully. During search *1,260 grams of charas like substance* was recovered from his possession. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as:- Mohammad Maqbool Malik @sahil (Age 22 years) son of Ghulam Nabi Malik resident of Waragam Budgam

Case FIR Number 149/2022 under relevent sections of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddler should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
