Trials and tribulations are a part of human life that come without exceptions. Also, we often perceive them as problems or something attributed to our bad luck. Islam being a comprehensive way of life provides us with a spectacular discourse which opens our mind to a completely different but sanguine world. Problems and mayhem always do not necessarily have to be only bad, and in reality, they act as blessings for a believer. The Almighty Allah mentions in His holy book, “Perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.” There are two possible sides to whatever we face in our lives. They can either be blessings or a test from the Almighty.Tests from Almighty form an important criterion for a believer to be qualified as desired by his lord.“Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried? But we have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident those who are false.’ [Qur’an 29: 2-3]. Allah the Almighty says in Holy Quran “Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. “Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people” [2:286]. The books of Hadith thoroughly mentions the virtues of trials and how astounding benefits they come with for a believer. Imam Bukhari narrates a hadith of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) which states that, “The people who face the most difficult tests are the prophets, then the righteous, then those following them in degree. A person is tried according to his religion. So if there is firmness in his religion, then the trial is increased, and if there is a weakness, then it is lightened. Verily a trial remains with a servant until he walks the earth having no sin left upon him.”Therefore a believer is supposed to remain thankful in times of bliss and patient when hit with problems. In both situations, he should remain positive for he knows the reward of it awaiting him. This indeed is the most beautiful thing, if looked with ultimate wit.
