Kashmir, a region of immense beauty and complex challenges, stands at a crossroads. The people of Kashmir have long endured a history of broken promises and unmet expectations. The time has come for a change—Kashmir needs leaders who can deliver on their commitments, not those who simply make promises they cannot fulfill.
Kashmir has been hearing leaders preach her about development, peace and prosperity for decades. The ground reality, however, is a tad different. Roads are bad, people do not even have amenities in some places some still live without access to potable water and the youth remain unemployed.
Local leaders made promises, which were not kept and that has bred a lot of frustration in the people. The difference between promise and delivery helps to create that trust deficit so few are now able to believe in the leader they elect. Words are needed for use Words need leaders to apply The challenges of Kashmir are not insurmountable, what it requires is a leader with clear vision and commitment to implement polices that benefits him, his administration as well the people at large.
The people of Kashmir deserve leaders who are not mouthpieces but good administrators as well. Leaders who can honestly and sincerely address unemployment, infrastructure development, health care etc. are need of the hour! A real leader of Kashmir is the one who listens to… just listen and get it; not abrogation! They would operate in an open and just manner as par for the course so to say. They would compile modest aims and attain them gradually, instead of telling empty promise.
Such leaders would legitimize the people, and they are able to encourage participation by their population in social development! In addition to that, Kashmir is in dire need of such leader who can eliminate the differences between various communities and bring all together.
If anything, the same many-hued cultural and religious tapestry of this region is its biggest asset and these leaders should work toward ensuring that unity gets stronger with every generation.
They should prioritise development that includes every stratum of society in the growth process, leaving no one behind. Ultimately, India is dependent on Kashmir-producing leaders who will bring results.
The populace of Kashmir is eagerly awaiting leadership that can move from mere narratives to action. The time of delivering the right actions and materializing these words as a promise is now here Leaders have to respond by helping kashmir for betterment making future advancement. That is nothing less than the people are due.
