Editorial  | Lolab : Rethinking Tourism Activities 

Lolab – Forever a favourite with beautiful mountains for nature lovers , this beautiful place has a peaceful presence that allows all visitors and tourists to take a digital detox and hear the sound of silence . Many places in Lolab have been notified as Eco tourist destinations by the Government  of Jammu and kashmir . Lolab as a whole comes under Govt’s  action plan.  Due to its picturesque  beauty and cultural significance – Lolab valley unlocks new vistas for kashmir tourism .

The government  needs to foster  a public policy roadmap which  should include promotional campaigns being carried out to woo tourists to virgin destinations of kupwar’s Lolab valley . This destination needs to be explored fully to showcase it worldwide to divert high end tourists to this Spot. Lolab festival  which must also include spring and herbs festival should be organised under Go Lolab /Brand lolab theme . Lolab can be groomed as a favourite telling route for foreigners and locals. One of the famous trekking route leads to Asia’s largest fresh water lake wular.   These routes can be marketed to attract huge tourist flow. Further picnic tours by educational institutions  should also be encouraged.  Natural beauty of Lolab can boost the local economy thereby contribute in country’s  GDP. The onum lies on the Government.
