ERO Lolab Aijaz Ahmed Chairs Meeting With Sectoral Heads on SSRERs in Sogam

In view of the ongoing special summary revision of electoral rolls (SSRERs), Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) 4-Lolab Constituency, Aijaz Ahmed who is SDM Lolab chaired a meeting with sectoral heads of Lolab at SDM office Sogam on Thursday.

During the meeting Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) informed the meeting about the crucial dates of Special Summary revision of electoral rolls. He asked sectoral heads of Lolab to ensure completion of enrolment of voters within minimum possible time.

Talking to the media persons ERO, as per Kashmir Glory, said that administration has geared up the efforts of door to door visit of each household to register new eligible voters. He said that on the directions of Election commission of India, special summery revision of electoral rolls will continue upto 25th of October. He said that main objective of holding these meetings is to ensure that all new voters get registered so that they can exercise their right to vote.

“We have geared up the machinery so that no new voters remain unregistered, besides BLO’s we have constituted and some parallel teams of concerned Patwari and Aasha Workers who are making door to door visit so that no voter is left unregistered”, he reiterated.

He appealed general public of Lolab to come forward and enroll the name in the electoral rolls. “I appeal all new voters who have attained age of 18 years on 1st of October 2022 to come forward and enroll themselves in electoral rolls”, he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that AERO 4-Lolab has organised camps from Thursday to Saturday in different villages of Tehsil Lalpora and Sogam for maximum youth enrollment.
