Kupwara, Apr 11: A day after residents of Fraswadi in Sogam accused the Jal Shakti department of providing a contaminated drinking water supply.
Executive Engineer Jal Shaki Division Kupwara, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, along JE, and other officers, visited the area, met the people, and listened to their grievances.
The officer, on the occasion, had a detailed discussion with the people of this particular area and assured them that their genuine issue would be redressed on a priority basis.
An official of Jal Shakti Department Division Kupwara told Global Kashmir that the Executive Engineer has also directed the concerned officer to provide him with the details of the same.
He said that the officer on this tour made people of this area sure that they would be provided with portable drinking water facilities in the coming days.
The officer also added that the senior Jal Shakti officials also asked the officials to provide him with the details of where they were disbursing the drinking water to this area.
Meanwhile, the locals of this area said that they were assured by the officials of Jal Shakti Division that their issues would be redressed at the earliest.
They said it is hoped that in the coming days we will get a portable drinking water container.
