SRINAGAR : In order to equip employees with the necessary SOPs to effectively manage social media platforms while adhering to government guidelines, a training session on social media handling was organized for the employees of the Forest Department at Sheikhbagh Forest Complex, Srinagar today.
The training session focused on enhancing the online presence of the Forest Department, promoting awareness about environmental conservation, and fostering engagement with the public. Employees learned about best practices for creating engaging content, responding to online queries, and addressing grievances.
During the session, employees were briefed on the Government’s Social Media Policy and guidelines for handling official communications. Tips and techniques for creating informative and engaging content were shared, including visual storytelling through short documentaries and addressing public grievances were discussed.
Speaking on the occasion Irfan Rasool Wani, Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir said the Social media is a powerful tool that can bridge the gap between government agencies and the community. The platform improves communication with the public and increases awareness about environmental conservation. By leveraging social media platforms effectively, employees can promote the department’s initiatives and share success stories.
DFO Planning and Publicity Division said the Forest Department plans to continue hosting training sessions to further develop the employees’ skills in handling social media platforms. By investing in these training opportunities, the department aims to strengthen its online presence effectively.
