Former Corporator discusses water issues with Jal Shakti Minister

JAMMU : A delegation led by former Corporator, Rama, from Resham Ghar Colony on Saturday called on Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmed Rana, at Civil Secretariat, Jammu.

She raised various issues related to water supply in ward number 13 of the area and called for augmentation of water supply in the area. She said that the supply hours are insufficient to meet the demand and requested for an increase in the duration of water supply hours.
Keeping in mind the increasing population of the area, Rama also requested for installation of a tube well in the area as a sustainable measure to ease the water woes of the area.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the delegation and said that the government is abreast with the problems faced by the people and corrective measures are being taken up wherever required.
The Minister issued on the spot directions to Chief Engineer PHE for ensuring prompt redressal of the issues raised by the former Corporator.
Likewise, other delegations and individuals also met the Minister and raised various developmental issues of their localities.
The Minister assured the delegations that all their grievances and demands would be taken up for prompt redressal. He said the present government is committed to ensure equitable development of Jammu and Kashmir with special emphasis on neglected and unreached parts.
