Handwara : In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, Handwara Police intercepted a narcotics peddler during a routine Naka checking at Tutigund, Handwara and recovered contraband from his possession.
Maintaining a heightened vigilance, a police party stopped a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03E-3546 for inspection. Upon conducting a thorough search of the rider, 04 grams of a contraband substance (suspected to be Heroin) were recovered from his possession.

During preliminary questioning, it surfaced that the individual is involved in drug peddling. Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 137/2025 has been registered at Police Station Handwara under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, and a detailed investigation has been initiated.
