Handwara Police Crack Theft Case – Stolen Property Recovered

Handwara : On April 17, 2025, Police Post Zachaldara received a complaint from the Panchayat Secretary of Ahagam regarding a theft that occurred during the intervening night of April 16–17, 2025. According to the complaint, unknown miscreants broke into the Panchayat Ghar Ahagam and stole several articles.

A case was promptly registered under the relevant sections of law, and investigation was initiated. During the course of investigation, one suspect — Altaf Ahmad Dar, son of Habibullah Dar, and a resident of Ahagam — was apprehended.

Following sustained questioning, the stolen property was recovered from the accused. The swift and effective action by the police led to the timely resolution of the case, restoring a sense of security among the local community.
