Security has been beefed up around the Uri-I and Uri-II hydro-power projects, which are close to the LoC.

A high alert has been sounded in Kashmir following intelligence inputs that a new militant group, Harkat 313, has been tasked to launch attacks on government infrastructure, including hydel power plants of Uri-I and Uri-II.

Security has been beefed up around the Uri-I and Uri-II hydro-power projects, which are close to the LoC.

According to inputs, militants are also likely to target the emergency landing strip in Anantnag. Another alert has been issued saying Hizbul Mujahideen is planning to target religious leaders to create a major law and order situation in the valley.

Inputs have also been received of terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF) planning to attack sarpanches and non-local people in Kashmir.

The alerts come amid a spate of attacks on non-local workers in J&K. This month, 11 people have lost their lives in shootings targeting civilians.

On Sunday, militants shot dead two workers from Bihar and injured another in Kulgam in South Kashmir. The deceased have been identified as Raja Reshi Dev and Joginder Reshi Dev. The militants entered the rented accommodation of the labourers and fired on them indiscriminately.
