Srinagar : A high-level review meeting to assess and strategize the implementation of Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan-2025 was convened today at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-Kashmir), Shalimar. The meeting, chaired by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and UT Nodal Officer, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, was held in the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Hall and brought together key stakeholders from across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The purpose of the meeting was to finalize a comprehensive roadmap for the successful implementation of a 15-day intensive campaign, scheduled from May 29 to June 12, 2025, under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan.
The session was attended by senior officials including Shri Ilyas Khateeb (Director Agriculture), Dr. Vikas Anand (Director Horticulture), Dr. M.K. Verma (Director CITH – online), and representatives from the Directorate of Jammu, Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry, Rural Development, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the region.
The deliberations focused on outreach strategies, convergence mechanisms, and empowering stakeholders in strengthening agricultural extension services. Prof. Ganai underscored the Abhiyan as a transformative mission to boost agricultural productivity, innovation, and last-mile delivery of farmer-centric services. He emphasized the critical role of agricultural universities in driving this mission forward through inter-departmental synergy.
Key implementation points discussed included:
100% saturation of beneficiaries under schemes such as PM-KISAN, PMFBY, KCC, and Soil Health Cards
Awareness and training camps at Panchayat and Block levels
Exhibitions, demonstrations, and field visits for knowledge sharing
Strengthened linkages between KVKs, line departments, and Panchayati Raj Institutions
Digital integration and real-time feedback mechanisms
The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor directed all departments to collaborate on a joint action plan with clear responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables. SKUAST-Kashmir will serve as the lead knowledge partner for the campaign, facilitating policy support and on-ground capacity building.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective commitment to work in unison for a Viksit Bharat, reaffirming the spirit of inclusive agricultural development under the motto:
“One Nation, One Agriculture, One Team – Ek Desh, Ek Kheti, Ek Team.”
