Srinagar : Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar on Thursday to chair a high-level security meeting in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
He was received at the airport by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
According to sources, the Home Minister is expected to proceed to Raj Bhavan, where he is likely to chair an emergency security review meeting with top officials.
Reports received by indicate that the number of casualties may be higher than initially confirmed by the authorities.
Sources further informed that the Home Minister is scheduled to visit the Pahalgam attack site on Wednesday. He will also visit hospitals to enquire about the condition of those injured in the attack. (KNS)
