IMHANS Kashmir celebrated Alzheimer’s Day

IMHANS Kashmir celebrated Alzheimer’s Day on Thursday. This significant day serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against Alzheimer’s disease and the critical need for awareness, support, and research in the fight against this debilitating condition Said Dr Junaid Nabi, Geriatric Psychiatrist at IMHANS in his inaugural speech.
Prof. Dr Mohd Maqbool HOD IMHANS in his speech highlighted that Alzheimer’s disease is a global health challenge that affects millions of individuals and their families. As we commemorate World Alzheimer’s Day at Geriatric Unit IMHANS reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and advancing research to find effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
Senior Professor Dr Arshid Hussain in his address said This year’s theme on Alzheimer’s Day 2023, underscores the importance of early detection, caregiver support, or research breakthroughs. IMHANS Kashmir recognizes the impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals and their loved ones, and we stand united in our efforts to make a difference, Hussain said.
Prof. Dr zaid Ahmad Wani invited every concerned stakeholder to participate in these activities and join the global movement to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the fight against Alzheimer’s and dementia, Wani said. The Program was attended by Medical Superintendent, Medical officers, senior Faculty Member Dr Yasir Rather and other members.
Dr Aijaz Suhaff had a detailed presentation on Prevalence and Management of Alzheimer’s and gave vote of thanks. It is notable to mention that a large number of Students attended the program.
