HELP Foundation in collaboration with (KASHMER)Kashmir American Society for Healthcare, Medical Education and Research inaugurated Healthy Minds Counselling Clinic at Kashmir Govt Polytechnic Gogji Bagh Srinagar.The facility was inaugurated by Special Secretary to Govt. Skill Development Dept. Mr Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, Principal KGO Eng Imtiyaz Ahmed Shaw, and Dr Syed Riyaz Ahmed, Project Director KASHMER.
Occasion was attended by members of healthy minds team, faculty and students of KGP. Speaking on the occasion Mr Ashraf emphasized upon broadening the scope of mental health service to cater larger sections of community. In this regard he envisioned cooperation between the entities to carry the program to all skill development institutions in the valley. Project Director KASHMER briefed the audiance about different programs conducted in collaboration with HELP Foundation and Help Poor Voluntary Trust in Kashmir valley. Experts in the field of clinical psychology Dr Muzaffar Khan, Director YDRC and consultant clinical psychologist also spoke on the occasion on various aspects of mental health and substance abuse in the community coping. The facility will be free of cost for all needy students and staff. Also highlighted on the occasion was importance of Pre-hospital care and how it helps reduce mortality and morbidity of patients that require urgent treatment. Awareness was created among staff how to call free Emergency Medical Service critical care ambulance run by KASHMER & HELP Foundation and it’s number(9484100200) was circulated among all audiance. This service is currently available in Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramullah and Kupwara. All districts will be covered in future.
