Rahul Gandhi, who is a Visiting Fellow of the Cambridge Judge Business School (Cambridge JBS), delivered the lecture to students at the university on the subject of ‘Learning to Listen in the 21st Century’.

“Indian democracy is under attack. We are trying to defend an attack on democracy,” the Congress MP said, adding that Pegasus was used by the government to spy on opposition leaders.

“I myself had Pegasus on my phone. A large number of politicians had Pegasus on their phones. I was told to be careful when I speak on the phone,” Rahul Gandhi told students of the university.

In his lecture, Rahul Gandhi accused the government of capturing, controlling the media and judiciary, surveillance, intimidation, attack on minorities, Dalits and Tribals and shutting down dissent.

Rahul Gandhi is on a week-long tour of the UK and is scheduled to hold some closed-door sessions on Big Data and Democracy and India-China relations at Cambridge University.

He will interact with representatives of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) UK chapter and also address an “Indian Diaspora Conference” planned over the weekend in London.
