J&K Police to Organize “Jammu Marathon-2025” on March 16, 2025

JAMMU : The Jammu and Kashmir Police is set to organize the “Run for Fun – Jammu Marathon-2025” on March 16, 2025. at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, under its Civic Action Programme (CAP). 2. In preparation for the event, a meeting was held at APHQ Jammu chaired by Sh. Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Armed Police. The ADGP Armed, who also serves as the Chairman of the event, issued necessary instructions to the officers responsible for ensuring the successful conduct of the event.

3. Earlier, Kuldeep Handoo, DySP Sports APHQ, presented a PowerPoint presentation to brief the attendees on the preparations and activities planned for the marathon.
4. The “Jammu Marathon-2025” is open to people from all walks of life, including children from various schools. The event categories include:
1. 21 KM Half Marathon (Men)
2. 10 KM Road Race Women (Above 18 years) 3. 10 KM Road Race Boys (Under 18 years) 4. 10 KM Road Race Veteran Women (Above 45 years)
5. 10 KM Road Race Veteran Men (Above 45 years) 6. 5 KM Sub-Junior Boys (Under 14 years) 1: 4 KM Sub-Junior Girls (Under 14 years) 8. 2 KM Run for Fun for all Senior Citizens, Men, Women, & Children 5. Participants are required to assemble at the venue by 05:00 hours for scrutiny and distribution of Chest Numbers/T-shirts, which will commence at 05:30 hours.
6. The various marathon categories, including the 21 KM Half Marathon will be flagged off by the Chief Guest and senior officers starting at 06:45 hours onwards, one after the other, on March 16th from Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
7. After the conclusion of the marathon, a prize distribution ceremony will take place at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. This will be followed by a raffle draw of Chest Numbers, where the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will
receive cash prizes
8. Eight registration counters have been set up for participants who wish to register for the event. Six counters are located in Jammu city, and two counters are in Srinagar city.
9. The meeting was attended by various senior officers, including Ms. Sarah Rizvi, IPS, DIG, IRP Jammu, Sh. Sandeep Gupta, IPS, DPT J&K; Sh. Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS, CO UTDRF 2nd Bn; Sh Joginder Singh, SSP, Jammu, Sh.Dalip Kumar SSP SO to ADGP Armed J&K. Commandants of AP/IR Jammu-based Battalions; Sh. Manoj Kumar Pandith, SSP, AIG Trg/Communication PHQ J&K; Sh. Faisal Qureshi, SSP Traffic City Jammu; Sh. Rajinder Singh, SSP, APCR Jammu; Ms. Shaheen Wahid, SSP, ACS Jammu; Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu and other officers.
