BARAMULLA : The Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC), in Sponsored with the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, organized a one-day awareness camp and loan mela at Community Hall Tujjer Sopore Baramulla.
The event, held in Collaboration with the Social Welfare Department Baramulla & Health Department , attracted over 300 women participants, eager to learn about welfare schemes, financial opportunities, and empowerment programs tailored to support women from backward classes. The initiative aimed to equip women with the knowledge and resources needed for self-reliance and economic independence.
Prominent dignitaries graced the occasion, including District Manager JKWDC Baramulla Shabir Ahmad Wani, District Manager Shopian-Kulgam Mohammad Maqbool, Rafia Wali ( Fiction Writer) Assistant Professor GDC Kreeri, Shafqat Majid Gender Specialist.
Their insights and encouragement motivated attendees to leverage the available resources for their personal and professional growth.
This camp reaffirmed the commitment of JKWDC and NBCFDC to fostering women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, and social justice in Jammu and Kashmir. By highlighting government-sponsored initiatives, the program aimed to bridge gaps and ensure equitable access to financial support for women in the region.
